Back to work with a bang

As the market stalled with lockdown, the pent-up demand for property built up over the weeks. So, since we opened our doors at the beginning of the month the phone has rung continuously as we respond to enquiries to buy and sell property.

This is great news for you as a seller. Act now to get your home on the market. We list your property on Rightmove and they have recorded the highest numbers of visitors and enquiries since lockdown has been relaxed.

A new survey from Rightmove has found a new wave of buyers now entering the market since before lockdown. Of those who had no plans to move earlier in the year, over a quarter of them (28%) are now saying they are planning to move.

Gardens have become more important to buyers, so it is well worth making the effort to make your outdoor space as attractive as possible, whether it be a small courtyard, or sprawling gardens.

Changing priorities

In the past, kitchen photographs were the most important photo in a property advert, but now you should consider giving greater prominence to pictures of gardens and outdoor spaces to attract the attention and buyers.

Sellers should consider painting the fence and keeping the garden tidy to make their property more attractive.

Clare Phillips of Phillips George said,

“We have been inundated with new enquiries over the last few weeks, many of whom were not interested in moving before lockdown. This has changed from being a buyer’s market, shifting the balance of power to sellers. We have added a swathe of measures and tools to make selling your property easier, while maintaining social distance, and keeping your family safe. My favourite online tool is our new online video tool, which is the best we have seen, giving a real feel for the property.”
